Maclear AG is a Swiss peer-to-business (P2B) crowdlending platform that lends investor money to small and medium-sized European companies raising finance for growth, equipment, stock or marketing. The company was founded in 2019, opened the platform in 2022 and funded its first campaign in August 2023. It is registered as a financial intermediary with PolyReg SRO, a Swiss self-regulatory organisation, which covers anti-money-laundering, KYC and conduct rules — not the investor protection of an EU ECSP licence or MiFID II. The platform works in euro, takes tickets from €50, advertises base rates of up to 16.5% a year plus loyalty and referral bonuses of up to 3% each, pays interest monthly and runs a secondary market for early exit. As of 31 July 2026 it reports €133.2M invested since launch across 1,967 projects for 47,743 registered investors, and one default since 2023, which was settled.

Maclear AG is a Swiss peer-to-business crowdlending platform: investors lend directly to small and medium-sized European businesses that need money for growth, equipment, stock or marketing. Every deal is a separate loan you pick yourself from the project page, or automatically through AutoInvest rules based on interest rate, term and risk grade.
Before a project is listed it goes through multi-stage due diligence: compliance and AML screening, financial and legal review of the borrower and, where relevant, an on-site check. Borrowers are graded on a ten-step scale from AAA (exceptional) down to D (default), and the project only goes live once the Investment Project Approval Contract (IPAC) is signed. Loans are typically secured on real assets — property, equipment or receivables — with Maclear acting as collateral agent for every investor in the deal.
Interest is paid monthly; on many projects the principal is repaid in full at the end of the term rather than amortised, so plan for the whole 9–14 months. If a borrower is late, the provision fund — financed by a 2% commission Maclear charges on projects — can cover the interest instalment. It does not cover principal. Once a loan is more than 60 days overdue the recovery process starts, including enforcement of the collateral.
Operations are supervised by PolyReg SRO, a Swiss self-regulatory organisation. That mandate covers anti-money-laundering rules, KYC and conduct — it is not the investor-protection regime of an EU ECSP licence or MiFID II, and it does not guarantee that any individual deal performs as advertised.
Maclear advertises base rates of up to 16.5% p.a., with a loyalty bonus of up to 3% and a 3% referral bonus on top for eligible investors. Independent reviews of real portfolios put realised returns closer to 14.5–14.9% once idle cash between projects is taken into account.
Platform figures as of 31 July 2026: €133.2M invested since launch across 1,967 projects for 47,743 registered investors, with €13.8M invested and €6.1M paid back to investors in July alone. The platform reports a single default since its first campaign in August 2023 — an Italian SME loan the founders covered personally rather than through collateral enforcement, which means the recovery mechanics have not been tested in practice.
Interest is paid monthly, principal on many projects only at maturity. Treat every headline figure as gross: defaults, late payments and cash waiting between projects all reduce what actually lands in your account.
Suited to investors who want secured SME exposure in euro over a 9–14 month horizon and are comfortable with default risk and with an SRO-registered rather than ECSP-licensed platform. Minimum ticket €50; 20–30 projects for adequate diversification. A complement to traditional fixed income, not a substitute.
Capital at risk. Loans on Maclear are not bank deposits and are not covered by any deposit-guarantee scheme. You can lose part or all of your capital.
Regulatory scope. PolyReg SRO registration covers anti-money-laundering and conduct obligations. It is not an EU ECSP licence or MiFID II authorisation, and it carries no investor-compensation scheme.
Default risk. Borrowers can stop paying. The provision fund may cover the interest instalment during a temporary delay but never the principal; past 60 days overdue, recovery runs through enforcement of the collateral, which is slow and partial in stressed scenarios. Only one default has occurred since 2023 and the founders settled it personally, so that enforcement path remains untested.
Liquidity risk. The secondary market allows an early exit but does not guarantee one: a listing runs 14 days, needs a buyer, and selling at a discount reduces your return.
Concentration risk. Deal flow is concentrated in European SMEs, with a strong weighting to Eastern Europe.
Tax. Interest is taxable in your country of residence; Maclear does not withhold.

Yes. A position can be listed after a 14-day holding period, at par or at a discount of up to 50% — premiums are not allowed. Sellers pay 2.5% on a completed sale, buyers pay nothing, the minimum transaction is €30 and a listing runs for 14 days. Around €2.7M traded in May 2026. Liquidity is not guaranteed: a sale still depends on someone buying.

SRO registration brings no investor-compensation scheme, so this is a real risk to size for. The loans you hold are contractual claims on the borrowers rather than on the platform, and Maclear holds the collateral as agent for investors, but an orderly wind-down would still depend on a servicer taking over collection — a process that typically takes 12–24 months and rarely recovers everything. Read the platform’s current terms for how client money is held before committing meaningful capital.

Transfers from Bankinter (Spain) do not work properly: –If made to the UK account, they may arrive incomplete, and –it is impossible to make them to the Finnish account, whereas transfers from other banks go through without any issues. When initiating the transfer, Bankinter automatically assigns a BIC code to the beneficiary bank that has a P as the third character instead of an R. With the code you show on the Maclear page (the one with the R), the transfer isn’t even initiated, but using the automatically assigned code, it never goes through, and the Finnish "bank" gives incorrect reasons, such as claiming they only accept transfers in euros or SEPA transfers.

Good returns and punctual payments. No problems.
Although I invest in Maclear since its beginning December 2023, although the payments are on time and there isn't any problem with withdrawals, there isn't any transparency on financial audit reports. They promised to be announced in next within weeks since April and still nothing. I'm going to re-evaluate this review when you are going to be more reliable about the promises you give. Sorry Maclear but there are so P2P platforms and most of them have already announced audit reports of the year 2025

Maclear has done a good job of always maintaining few projects in the main market for investment, and during my 18 months of experience with this platform, all the payments were on time without any delay.
